I was born in Bradford in 1975 and raised in the 'care system' until I was 18.


I started painting when I was 14, as a way of escaping from my problems. Having dabbled in many styles, I have recently developed one of my own that I am comfortable with.


 I am fascinated by Picasso, Salvador Dali and the human figure. I start my work with a blank canvas ... and an equally blank mind ! I find that, this way, the painting itself tells me what it needs.

I love the face and body. My challenge is to break them down into the simplest of shapes. Less says more.

I like to think of my work as 'in the moment' and always try to finish a painting at one sitting to maintain it's air of spontaneity.
